In the springtime, the mountains that flank the Wine Route are vibrant with wildflowers, which make for incredible highland hikes. In the summertime heat, there is nothing better than to sit in the shade and enjoy a chilled Armenian white. The fall is harvest season when the wineries in the region are busy bringing in their grapes and beginning the wine production process—don’t miss the annual autumn Wine Festival in the village of Areni. When winter comes and the days get short, enjoy a rich red wine by the fire– or explore the annual the annual Snowman Festival in the nearby spa town of Jermuk.

Most visitors come in the tourism high season of summer and fall, but there is no bad time to visit Vayots Dzor!
