Day 2: Late Morning

Depart Yeghegnadzor for Yeghegis village to visit the medieval Jewish cemetery and Armenian Zorats church, the only known “outdoor chapel” in Armenia. The open western entrance, with no closed inner hall, is a surprising architectural feature that does not contain a traditional vaulted hall and domed ceiling. The only roofed enclosure is the eastern altar apse and its two adjacent vestries.

Afternoon

Drive to Jermuk town. Enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Jermuk mineral water gallery with the nearby park of Hayduk monuments, Jermuk waterfall and art gallery.

Return to Areni for dinner and wine tasting at a local winery.
